#HouseOfCode Celebrates App Challenge

Ian from Grade 11, along with his cohorts from New Jersey, has been selected as winners of New Jersey District 12 in Congressional App Challenge (CAC). They will be recognized during a three-day celebration commemorating their achievements on April 20 – 22.

#HouseOfCode is the most prestigious demo day in student STEM – the new national science fair. This year over 7,000 students participated creating more than 2,000 successful applications. Each congressional district selects multiple winning applications to invite to present on Capitol Hill to their respective congressmen.

Ian and his friends developed an iPhone app to assist patients in accessing relevant medical information prescribed by doctors. The app will help improve communications between patients and doctors. The three students collaborated from brainstorming to coding together, all online due to the pandemic restrictions.  But this challenge created an opportunity for them to meet peers from around the globe.

They will be presenting, virtually, on Capitol Hill this Saturday, April 23 at 5:30am KST (Friday, April 22 at 4:30pm EST)
