CNN Call to Earth Day 2024: Dwight Seoul’s Eco Council Takes Action

In celebration of CNN’s Call to Earth Day 2024, Dwight Seoul’s Eco-Council launched three impactful initiatives to combat waste and promote sustainability. Their collective effort to create a more sustainable future is truly inspirational.

Rooftop Composter Project
With 60% of food served at Dwight being wasted annually, the Eco-Council devised a solution to turn waste into opportunity. They transformed food waste into nutrient-rich soil, helping sustain our rooftop garden and fostering a greener campus.

Fast Fashion Project
Through a clothing drive involving students, parents, and staff, donated items were resold and upcycled at 70% of their original price, helping reduce clothing waste while promoting a culture of mindful consumption within the Dwight community.

Neighborhood Project
Our Eco-Council members ventured beyond campus to make an impact in the Seoul Metropolitan area. Through trash clean-up sessions and tree-planting initiatives, they contributed to cleaner, greener public spaces and a healthier urban environment.
