Dwight School Seoul choir students took part in the 7th Annual Dwight Global ChoirFest, held in London, joining peers from Dwight schools around the world for a week filled with music, collaboration, and global celebration under the inspiring theme, “Our Stories.”
This annual event brought together talented young vocalists from Dwight campuses across the globe to share their voices and connect through the universal language of music. More than just a festival, ChoirFest has become a cherished Dwight tradition, one that embodies our vision of igniting the “spark of genius” in every child while fostering global understanding and unity.

Representing Dwight School Seoul, our choir students captivated everyone with their beautiful harmonies and passionate performance. Their artistry and teamwork truly reflected the spirit of creativity, collaboration, and international-mindedness that defines the Dwight community.
“Participating in ChoirFest was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students,” shared Nathalie Waldmann, PYP Coordinator and trip leader. “They not only developed their musical skills but also built lasting friendships and a profound appreciation for the diverse stories that unite us as one Dwight family.”

Jakob Henzi, Performing Arts teacher and Choir Director, added that the festival provided an invaluable opportunity for students to grow as musicians and global citizens.
Beyond the music, the trip also gave students the chance to explore London’s rich culture and history. Linnea, one of our choir members, shared that seeing the city’s landmarks felt iconic: “London really is like no other! Singing the alto part was quite a challenge, but I felt so proud of myself when I got it right.” She also found inspiration in the work of Ben Wilson, an artist known for painting tiny pictures on pieces of gum along Millennium Bridge, a creative and unexpected form of public art that made a big impression.
For Treia, the highlight of the trip was riding the London Eye and seeing the city from above. “It was much bigger than I expected, and it was so cool that our whole group could fit in one cabin,” she said. “Singing brings people together and helps us connect even with people we didn’t know before.”

As the final notes of ChoirFest 2025 echoed through London, our students returned home with unforgettable memories, stronger connections, and a renewed sense of pride in representing Dwight School Seoul on the global stage.
Throughout the week, students immersed themselves in workshops, rehearsals, and cultural exchange activities, all leading up to a breathtaking final performance at the Pentland Theatre, Arts Depot. The theme “Our Stories” encouraged students to reflect on their personal journeys and cultural backgrounds, transforming these experiences into heartfelt musical expressions that resonated deeply with audiences.
The theme celebrated global unity through music, under the inspiring theme – Our Stories, bringing young performers together to explore shared creativity, harmonies and cultural connections. Students experienced how collaborative performance can spark confidence, curiosity and joyful musical expression.
The final performance took place at an iconic Pentland Theatre, Arts Depot, giving students a thrilling professional stage experience. The final act in such a historic setting added excitement, pride and a real sense of achievement to the journey.

Students enjoyed London’s classics like its museums, landmarks and lively streets. Exploring the city gave them a richer understanding of culture, history and everyday life, adding adventure and inspiration to their musical trip.
A dedicated team of Dwight Seoul staff led and supported the trip, guiding rehearsals, logistics and wellbeing. Their encouragement helped students feel prepared, safe and excited throughout this unforgettable international experience.
Students loved bonding with peers from worldwide Dwight campuses. They described instant friendships, shared laughter and feeling part of a global community where music connected them beyond backgrounds, accents or geography.
Beyond musical growth, students gain independence, confidence, cultural awareness and global friendships. Experiences like these broaden perspectives, spark curiosity and empower young learners to feel capable, connected and ready for future adventures.
