Our Dwight Seoul team “The Kimchee Boys” has been awarded the Most Innovative Award at Sparkathon 2025!
Congratulations to team members Roi K. ’30, Hugh M. ’30, Hoeyon B. ’30, and Chanbin S. ’30 for their exceptional work addressing critical challenges in food security and agricultural sustainability.
Their winning concept tackles soil asphyxiation – a widespread but often invisible problem responsible for up to 50% crop yield loss globally. The team’s innovative solution features a swarm of soft, worm-like robots that autonomously navigate underground soil systems to:
- Detect compacted soil conditions through advanced sensing
- Remediate soil health using targeted micro-vibrations
- Release nutrients where needed most
- Provide real-time monitoring and data analytics
