What is your role at Dwight School Seoul?
Head of Design, teaching Design and Computer Science

What made you decide to work in an education setting?  And what is your philosophy?
I love to learn something new everyday, whether it is through my job, reading or other people. I wanted to impart my love of lifelong learning onto others.

What do you like the most about working at DSS?
We have a really strong community here. Lots of inspirational staff and encouraging parents who want to make a difference for our students (who are also awesome) and make Dwight such a positive environment to be a part of.

What have you been reading lately?
The 5am Club by Robin Sharma, Debt by David Graeber.

What one particular social issue calls out to you and why?  How do you see yourself contributing to making an impact/being the solution?
A social issue that calls out to me is females’ right to education. I have worked in countries where females did not have education access due to poverty, violence etc. It’s not just about getting girls into classrooms but making sure they are safe in school and equitably supported to pursue the subjects and careers they choose. It is important we raise awareness about this in our classrooms.

What is one fun fact about you that others may not know or may surprise them?
I am a wedding officiant and have married 3 of my friends so far! I have some vacancies in my schedule this year…

Why would you tell a prospective family to choose DSS?
The Dwight family cares about the whole child, their social, emotional and academic development. Everyone has the opportunity to succeed at something everyday and that is what makes learning special here.
